Rohde & Schwarz is expanding the operations staff of its R&S Cyber Defense and Response Center in Leipzig and is looking for an experienced senior SOC/CDC engineer to support its global team. As CDC Detection Engineer, you take technical responsibility for the detection engineering process, continuously improve detection and response workflows and the toolchain, and implement and refine alerting and detection rules. When needed you support analysts with real-time monitoring, analysis and triage of events and alarms, work closely with global infrastructure operations teams such as Malware Defense and Vulnerability Management, and maintain SOPs, standards and architecture diagrams. In projects you advise on using existing solutions and integrating new tools according to security best practices. The role requires a Master's degree in computer science or information security, at least 5 years of cybersecurity experience including SIEM/SOAR, Python scripting skills and fluent English.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in computer science, information security or equivalent
  • At least 5 years of cybersecurity experience, ideally within global companies
  • Experience building or further developing SOC/CDC structures in an international environment, including SIEM and SOAR
  • Ability to use and understand scripting languages such as Python
  • Familiarity with common frameworks and standards such as MITRE ATT&CK, NIST and ISO 27001
  • Ability to handle complex tasks and problems
  • Very good communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Fluent written and spoken English
