Description

This is a Software Development Engineer role on the AWS Security team in Berlin, building services that detect and automate the mitigation of cybersecurity threats, including advanced persistent threats, across Amazon's infrastructure. The engineer uses AWS technologies such as Lambda, Kinesis, and DynamoDB to build security detections at massive scale, working closely with security engineers and data scientists across multiple teams. Responsibilities include raising the bar on software architecture and operational excellence, designing scalable low-latency architectures for big-data processing, and mentoring teammates. The role carries on-call responsibilities roughly one week every two months, including support for the European Sovereign Cloud, and requires at least three years of professional software development experience in Java, C#, Python, or Rust.

  • Experience designing or architecting new and existing systems (design patterns, reliability, and scaling)
  • Minimum of three years (non-internship) software development experience in Java, C#, Python, or Rust
  • Minimum of three years experience working with Linux operating system development
