Description

N26 is hiring a Senior Data Engineer for its Analytics Engineering & Governance Enablement (AEGE) team, which builds the standards and tooling that the wider analytics engineering community relies on to ship trusted data products. The role owns and evolves the dbt services powering N26's data warehouse and lakehouse, including CI/CD pipelines, runtime configuration, and data-quality standards, and acts as the engineering interface for a broad community of data practitioners. It improves data quality and governance infrastructure and contributes well-tested Python tooling. This is a full-time role based in Berlin.

Requirements

  • Solid Python: typed, tested, maintainable code you can contribute to shared tooling
  • Strong SQL: able to read and reason about query plans, identify performance bottlenecks, and set a high production standard
  • Experience with dbt at scale: macros, hooks, incremental models, project structure, and CI/CD integration on large, multi-team projects
  • Strong problem solving: scoping problems quickly and finding root causes rather than treating symptoms
  • Community and craft orientation: able to influence without authority and make good practices stick
  • Track record of improving reliability, quality, or productivity in a data organisation
