Description

A Second Line of Defense Anti-Financial Crime (AFC) compliance role at the digital bank N26, based in Berlin. The associate manages and executes the AFC control framework on behalf of the GMLRO, conducting compliance testing on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis and evaluating both control design and operational performance. The role co-develops and maintains the local/global AFC Control Plan, mapping testing activities to the Risk Assessment and AML safeguards, and prepares reporting for the AFC Governance Forum on systemic risks and control maturity. It proactively identifies control shortcomings, documents formal observations and tracks remediation to closure.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in law, economics or equivalent, with strong knowledge of compliance and financial-crime-prevention laws and regulations in banking at European and local level
  • At least 3 years of experience in external or internal audit or a risk assurance role, with expertise in executing monitoring plans and testing control frameworks
  • Understanding of local and global AML/CTF regulations and the current banking regulatory landscape
  • Technical mastery of assurance methodologies, including sampling logic
  • Ability to translate the Risk Assessment into a tactical control plan
  • Understanding of banking operations and the interplay between the 1st and 2nd Line of Defense
  • Fluency in English and German (verbal and written)
