Description

A solution architecture role designing and implementing modern cloud-native architectures for public-sector and defence customers in highly secure, regulated environments. The architect drives the adoption of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines and GitOps approaches, and designs Kubernetes-based solution architectures including air-gapped and offline scenarios. Responsibilities include creating technical solution designs and platform documentation, evaluating and integrating CNCF technologies, and supporting accreditation and BSI baseline security requirements. The role also contributes reference architectures, deployment blueprints and technical customer advisory during transformation projects.

Requirements

  • Solid experience as a Solution Architect in cloud-native and DevOps environments, including complex Kubernetes-based platform solutions, ideally in public sector or defence
  • Strong knowledge of cloud-native architectures, Kubernetes and container orchestration (min. 3 years)
  • Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines and GitOps methodologies (Flux, ArgoCD)
  • Solid understanding of the CNCF ecosystem and modern cloud platform architectures
  • Experience creating solution designs and technical architecture documentation
  • Strong Linux system administration and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Crossplane)
  • Understanding of network virtualization, SDN, CNI and service mesh concepts
  • Experience in public sector or defence environments and knowledge of BSI baseline security standards
  • Strong IT Service Management knowledge (ITIL Foundation or higher)
  • At least 3 years in ITIL-based consulting and service design processes
  • At least 5 years of experience in public sector environments (federal ministries, agencies, subordinate authorities)
  • Native-level German and very good English, spoken and written
