Description

Alteos, an AXA-backed insurtech based in Berlin, is hiring a Lead Software Engineer to take technical ownership of its Configuration Experience team, which builds and manages the company's insurance products. The role is predominantly hands-on: researching solutions, writing RFCs, building PoCs with other teams, and shipping Node.js and TypeScript code, with a smaller people-leadership component (feedback, team meetings, and supporting colleagues' growth). It calls for full-stack understanding across frontend and backend, a cloud-agnostic mindset, and solid experience using AI tools in the engineering workflow. This is a hybrid role in Berlin, and 2-5 years of experience is expected.

Requirements

  • Solid hands-on experience as a software engineer with Node.js and TypeScript
  • First experience leading or managing people, with the motivation to grow further into leadership
  • Full-stack understanding across frontend and backend, with a cloud-agnostic mindset
  • Solid experience working with AI tools in the engineering workflow (e.g., orchestrating multi-agent setups)
  • Clear communicator, motivated to grow into building and guiding a team over time
