Description

Rohde & Schwarz is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to build a Kubernetes-based, high-performance, highly available cloud-native platform that forms the foundation for a broad, unique product portfolio. Working in an agile team, you will contribute to architecture design, evaluate new technologies, and design, implement, and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure platform services. You will create integration frameworks, APIs, and telemetry and monitoring solutions, and produce guidelines, best practices, and tutorials that help other teams build and deploy applications on the platform. Code quality, maintainability, and stability are ensured through code reviews, test-driven development, refactoring, and thorough documentation. The position is based in Dresden, Germany, and can be done full-time or part-time.

Requirements

  • Completed degree in computer science or a comparable qualification
  • Several years of experience in professional software development with a focus on backend and platform services
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes and the design and implementation of service-oriented, scalable systems using Linux-based development environments
  • Very good knowledge of API design for RESTful and/or gRPC APIs
  • Team spirit, personal responsibility, and solution orientation using agile methods, plus the ability to explain technical concepts to others
  • Very good written and spoken German
  • Good written and spoken English
