Description

Rohde & Schwarz is hiring a Senior Engineer for hardware verification and test architecture in Stuttgart, designing test architectures for military software-defined radios (SDR). The role builds modular, scalable test environments and frameworks, ensures Design for Test is considered early, and leads verification and commissioning of complex hardware assemblies using high-precision measurement equipment. It also develops test software for SoC systems (bare-metal and embedded Linux), implements drivers and low-level software on microcontrollers, and builds automated hardware test suites. Candidates need a technical degree, several years of hardware-related software development experience, and command of Python and C/C++. This is a full-time permanent position.

Requirements

  • Completed degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering or a comparable technical field
  • Several years of solid experience in hardware-related software development and hardware validation, ideally in safety-critical or military environments
  • Command of Python for test frameworks and automation and C/C++ for embedded and low-level development, confident with embedded Linux distributions
  • Deep experience with complex electrical measurement equipment and strong understanding of circuit analysis
  • Experience designing test frameworks and knowledge of modern test automation strategies from practice
  • Independent, structured working style, strong team player and clear communicator
  • Willingness to travel internationally to support external partners
  • Very good written and spoken German and English
