Description

Rohde & Schwarz is hiring a working student in software development with a focus on technology and AI, joining its R&D Technology Systems area in Cologne. The role supports developing Windows-based applications in C#, C++, Java or Python, building and optimizing relational databases, and creating modern fullstack web interfaces for data visualization and software control. It also involves maintaining and refactoring existing codebases with Git, integrating and testing AI technologies (especially LLMs), and developing VR/AR prototypes. Candidates should be studying a STEM field with good programming skills and an interest in AI and/or VR. This is a part-time, fixed-term working student position.

Requirements

  • Ongoing studies in computer science, business informatics, electrical engineering, (applied) mathematics, media informatics, automation engineering or a comparable STEM field
  • Good programming skills in C#, C++, Java or Python
  • Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript, ideally complemented by experience with frameworks such as React, Angular or Vue.js
  • Experience with relational SQL databases and knowledge of development for the Windows ecosystem
  • Interest in AI and/or VR, ideally with first experience in LLMs or VR development (e.g. Unity, Unreal Engine or Godot)
  • Analytical and structured mindset, high initiative, willingness to learn new technologies and enjoyment of agile teamwork (e.g. Scrum)
