Description

Delivery Hero is hiring a Software Engineer II for the Content Quality team within its Quick Commerce department, based in Berlin. The team owns the accuracy, completeness, and trustworthiness of the product content behind dark stores and local-shop partners worldwide (groceries, pharmaceuticals, flowers, and more). The engineer will design and build high-traffic services and APIs, contribute to the architectural evolution of the Content Quality systems, and own services end-to-end from design through production monitoring and scaling. The role is Python-focused (4+ years), working with large-scale distributed systems, AWS or GCP, infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, observability tooling, and both relational and NoSQL databases. It suits an engineer who thrives on high-traffic challenges and takes strong ownership of production services.

Requirements

  • At least 4+ years of professional experience building robust applications in Python
  • Experience with, or a genuine drive to build, large-scale distributed systems that handle high request volumes
  • Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns
  • Hands-on exposure to AWS or GCP and a Configuration-as-Code mindset (Terraform, CloudFormation, or Helm)
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (ArgoCD, Drone) and observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, distributed tracing)
  • Solid knowledge of relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, DynamoDB, Redis) databases
  • A collaborative, data-driven problem-solver who takes extreme ownership and a quality-first approach to feedback
