Lead Legal Counsel, Group DPO
Description
Bitpanda, a Vienna-founded multi-asset investment and crypto platform, is hiring a Lead Legal Counsel to serve as the Group Data Protection Officer. The role defines and executes the group-wide data protection strategy and acts as the primary point of contact for supervisory authorities across Europe, the UK and the UAE. It advises the C-suite, engineering and product teams on privacy at the intersection of data privacy, blockchain and AI, and owns the group's data protection control framework, breach response and international data transfers. This is a senior in-house legal and privacy leadership position requiring 7+ years of data protection experience and an appointment as DPO.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in data protection, ideally across top-tier international law firms, a regulatory authority and in-house legal or privacy departments
- Experience acting as an appointed Data Protection Officer
- Ability to navigate complex regulatory environments around digital assets and regulated financial services
- Fully fluent in English
- C1 or higher level of German
