Description

Zalando is preparing to open a new logistics centre in Gießen (Hesse) and is hiring a Health & Safety Manager to lead its safety specialists and occupational paramedics. You ensure full compliance with occupational safety, health, fire and environmental protection regulations, advise managers and employees, and develop site-specific safety programmes and risk assessments. You support training, audits, inspections and accident investigations, analyse safety KPIs and reporting, and coordinate with authorities, trade associations, the fire brigade, the company doctor and the works council. The role requires a technical degree or training, qualification as an occupational safety specialist (§5 ASiG) and several years of HSE experience.

Requirements

Technical degree or training (technician, engineer, master craftsman)
Qualification as an occupational safety specialist (Fachkraft für Arbeitssicherheit, §5 ASiG)
Several years of HSE professional experience
Sound knowledge of safety regulations and standards
Strong analytical, solution-oriented and structured way of working
Convincing communication skills and confident use of common IT tools (ideally Google Workspace)
