Description

adjoe, the adtech company behind the Playtime Arcade rewarded-advertising product, is hiring a Senior Go Backend Developer for its Demand Core team in Hamburg. You build and operate the sub-millisecond decision engine that powers 200 million daily ad interactions, maintaining a 99%+ Go microservice architecture that evaluates 40+ targeting constraints and 30+ real-time signals to rank campaigns in milliseconds. You design high-throughput event-streaming pipelines with Kafka, SQS/SNS and Kinesis, optimise queries across DynamoDB, MySQL, Druid and Athena, and expose documented open APIs to enterprise partners. You also partner with the Data Science team to integrate machine-learning algorithms into real-time ad targeting.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of backend development experience, including at least 3 years writing Go in production distributed environments
  • Hands-on experience designing asynchronous microservice communication using event buses such as Kafka, SQS/SNS and Kinesis
  • Understanding of database internals and low-level web standards (HTTP protocol, encoding, regular expressions) with the ability to optimise queries across DynamoDB, MySQL, Druid and Athena
  • Ability to grasp complex technical topics and applied mathematics to integrate machine-learning algorithms with the Data Science team
  • Fluent spoken and written English
