
Flight Control Systems Engineer
Description
Helsing, a European defence AI company, is hiring a Flight Control Systems Engineer in Munich to shape and deliver a fly-by-wire flight control system from first architecture sketch to first flight. You will define the system architecture and requirements baseline for flight control, vehicle management and flight management functions, steer the systems engineering lifecycle, and produce certification evidence to ARP4754, ARP4761, DO-178C and DO-254. You will coordinate avionics hardware and software integration with suppliers and report progress to Chief Engineering and Programme Management. The role requires having designed flight control hardware and software for an airborne platform, deep knowledge of flight control laws and vehicle management systems, and experience taking a system through civil or military certification.
Requirements
- Have designed and developed flight control hardware and software for an airborne platform, covering systems engineering, safety and avionics integration
- Apply system-level (ARP4754, ARP4761) and item-level (DO-178C, DO-254) standards to safety-critical systems in practice, not just in principle
- Bring deep knowledge of flight control laws and air vehicle management systems
- Have taken a system through certification with a civil or military aviation authority
- Communicate technical results clearly to engineers, partners and non-specialist stakeholders alike
