Product Safety Manager - Product Compliance PL - maternity cover (all genders)
Description
Zalando is seeking a Product Safety Manager (maternity cover until the end of February 2028) in its PL Testing & Quality team in Berlin, responsible for all legal chemical and physical testing and product-compliance procedures for its private-label brands. You will coordinate sourcing offices and suppliers worldwide across Asia and Europe, translate EU and local regulations into internal standards and policies, and evolve the testing strategy from final-product to smart material testing. The role also owns risk assessment of customer complaints and decisions on actions such as product recalls, supports budget planning, and reports KPIs to the team lead. It suits a candidate with chemical or fashion/garment-technology education and 5-8 years of international experience in the textile, shoe or accessories industry.
Requirements
- Chemical studies or Fashion Engineer, or studies in garment/shoe/accessories technology or equivalent education
- 5-8 years of relevant international experience in the textile/shoe/accessories industry
- Excellent analytical, strategic and problem-solving skills
- Decision-maker personality with a pragmatic approach
- Very strong self-management with a distinct entrepreneurial mindset
- Very strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to cope with a rapidly changing environment
- Self-motivated, self-dependent and proactive
