Description

A software engineering role at REWE digital in Cologne, in the Customer Relations & Sales domain working on the Basket Prediction product, a data-driven solution to reduce inventory discrepancies at self-checkout tills. The engineer develops and operates cloud-native, event-driven services that process large volumes of transaction and event data in near real time and expose analytical results to other products. It requires several years of backend and platform engineering experience in cloud-native environments.

Requirements

  • Several years of experience developing and operating modern backend and platform solutions
  • Experience in cloud-native environments with technologies such as Python or Go, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code and GitOps
  • Experience with distributed systems, event streaming and asynchronous processing (e.g. Kafka)
  • Experience processing large data volumes and working with transactional and analytical databases
  • Focus on maintainability, software quality, automation and security by design
