Description

Vodafone is hiring a Senior Data Engineer in Unterföhring to join its Data Engineering team and build big data pipelines for automated real-time actions in the Vodafone network. Working in an interdisciplinary team of data engineers, data scientists and software engineers, the role develops data models and pipelines within cloud architectures, opens up new data sources and enables real-time network fault detection using large datasets. It also ensures data quality, optimizes ETL performance, and supports the development of the data strategy and database architectures. The position can be filled full-time or in near-full-time part-time (at least 30 hours).

Requirements

  • Completed degree in computer science or a comparable qualification
  • Several years of experience with databases (especially Oracle), data modeling, ETL processes, data warehousing, and real-time/streaming technologies such as Kafka
  • Very good programming skills (e.g. Python) and practical software development experience, with excellent SQL knowledge
  • Independent, self-reliant way of working with high initiative
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Business-fluent English and German
